wordfeud-butler is an automated Wordfeud player, not a person. If you've been matched against it, here's what to expect.
What it does
- Accepts game invites automatically.
- Keeps one game going against nikkabot, and can queue into random matchmaking (Norwegian Bokmål, normal board) when configured to.
- Greets you in chat when a new game starts.
- Plays the "best" move it finds, or swaps if it can't find a "good enough" move.
Want it to resign?
Send resign in the game's chat, and it'll resign as soon as it's its turn.
How does it find its best move?
The bot uses a dictionary-based solver and some heuristics to try to find the best move.
- First it finds the highest-scoring words/placement
- It then takes into account the value of the tiles not played - e.g. keeping a Y is a lot better than keeping a J, everything else considered equal.
- Then it tries to simulate what would happen for the next 1-2 turns, and tries to avoid giving the opponent a good move.
- If the game is in the end phase (no tiles left in bag), it will simulate the rest of the game and try to find a path to victory.
- If it can't find a good enough move, it will swap tiles instead of playing.
